She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Sydney and Martha Louise Thornton Sr., on December 29th, 1946. Her battle with medical issues these past few months showed her willingness (and stubbornness) to stay on this earth as long as she could.
Left to live with her loving memories are her daughter Kimberly, brother Dewey, sisters-in-laws Becky and Margaret, numerous nieces and nephews and her cat, Miss Priss.
Sally is preceded in death by her husband, Don O’Neal Jacks, her brother, Sydney, her parents, and her grandparents.
She was a simple person who loved her daughter more than anything in this world and sacrificed a lot for her not to want for anything. She loved Hallmark movies, sweets, and hockey. She will be remembered for her ‘looks’ when she didn’t like the response you gave to her questions, her sassiness, and her every 30-minute text messages to her daughter, making sure she was always safe.
Officiating the service will be Justin Haigler of The Simple Church.
Honoring her as pallbearers will be Dewey Thornton, Brian Thornton, Tommy Scott, Jason "Soupy" Campbell, Michael Hill and Gavin Morgan.
Her daughter Kimberly would like to thank the nursing staff of the all the facilities where she spent her last few months, the Mudbugs Hockey fan base, Zach Choate, Scott Muscutt, Tommy Scott, and Amy Baker. A special thank you to Sonya Bingle for being there when it wasn’t easy.
