Ruthie Lee Davis

Shreveport, LA Ruthie Lee Smith Davis was born Feb 15, 1931 to Martha Verdell Huffman Smith and Tom Gore Smith in Hamburg, Ark.

She was a longtime, faithful member of the Church of God, and attended North Desoto Church of God. She and Frank raised three daughters, and after they were all in school she went to nursing school. She then worked as an LPN until she retired.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Aubry Frank Davis; her parents; and a sister Catherine Smith Davis. She is survived by her daughters, Dianna Floyd, Deborah Mauldin and husband Charles, and Lori Edgell and husband James; two sisters Angie Coleman and husband Butch and Martha Kurtz; a brother, Thomas H. Smith and wife Ilse; six grandchildren, Donna Needham and husband Danny, LeAnne Fuqua and husband Coy, Chuck Mauldin and wife Jennifer, Adam Edgell and wife Laura, Matthew Edgell and wife Alicia and Jami Edgell; eleven great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

A service celebrating the life of Mrs. Davis will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2016, 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rev. David Radford and Rev. Mike Hicks. Visitation with the family will be Monday, November 7, from 5 until 7 PM at the funeral home.

The family sends a special thanks to Dr. Michael Angelo, Nurse Manager Tommy Robinson, nurses Mandy, Alecia, Suzanne and all the staff at Promise Bossier that showed her so much love and compassion in her final days.
