Always right, never wrong, and loved by most, Robert Albert Toups Sr., passed away on Monday September 3, 2018 at the age of 73, at his home in Shreveport, Louisiana surrounded by his family. He was born September 12, 1944 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Felix and Iona Angelo Toups.
Robert was a lifelong retail salesman before finally retiring in 2013 from Farmers Seafood. He served as a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and in the Knights of Columbus #3407 for 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved to hear the laughter of small children, especially his great-grandchildren, Cohen and Greyson.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Carolyn Townsend Toups; children, Robert Toups Jr., Toni Toups Viator, Brian Howard; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Jean Toups and Sally Toups Morgan.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Shane Howard; and grandson, Hunter Seale.
A visitation for Robert will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM. Fr. Fidel Mondragon will be officiating the services.
