Paw passed away on Monday, March 31, 2014. Paw was born January 31, 1954. He began working as a tile setter and a roofer but found his calling while working in a gun shop. He opened his own business, Mike's Guns, in 1985 and has owned and operated it ever since. Paw was a phenomenal gunsmith and could turn any 'ole gun into a work of art.His love of guns didn't stop there. He enjoyed hunting deer and rabbits, especially with his two sons, Shane and Kevin. Paw was a great shot and could kill more deer sitting in one spot than any of his buddies running dogs. Whether Paw was taking care of family and friends, working in the gun shop, driving down dirt roads to a deer stand or chasing the barks of hounds, a few things are for sure: His truck didn't have a speck of dirt on it, his clothes were neatly pressed, and his hair was perfect. Paw was a hard working man that took pride in everything he did. Paw was a loving husband to his wife, Diane Rivers, and together they would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in August. He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley Elmer and Mary Laverne Rivers; his brother, Johnny Ray Rivers; and his sister, Sue Rivers. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Rivers; two sons, Shane Rivers and his wife Sherry; Kevin Rivers and his wife Nikki; five grandsons, Bobby McNeely, Cody McNeely, Dylan Rivers, Garrett Ferrata, and Gavin Rivers; four granddaughters, Leiloni Bishop, Hailey Rivers, Megan Rivers, and Addison Ferrata; two brothers, Monroe Rivers and Patrick Rivers; four sisters, Elaine Rivers, Judy Hershiser, Annette Phelps, and Margie Heggins; and a host of relatives and friends.Paw will be remembered by all who knew him, especially his "Good Buddy" Gavin.
