He was born August 1, 1963 in Shreveport, LA to Wendell Lee and Ruby (Austin) Burton. They both preceded him in death along with his brother-in-law, Jeffrey Anderson; and nephews, Jeremy Carpenter, Nicholas Anderson.
To know Mike is to love him. He loved unconditionally and lived fearlessly while displaying strength and grace in the midst of adversity. He was a strong role model and touched the hearts of those that got to share a moment with him. Mike was a true jokester. One of his love languages was to give nicknames. Whether it be Ling-Ling, Sally, Pink-Poodle, or Linda, to have a nickname from Mike was an endearing thing. Mike was passionate. He loved life and celebrated it in many ways, one notably being his love and care for animals. No life too big or small was out of reach for him. His passion for life overflowed into his work. He loved to help others, was a natural leader, and devoted himself to his career and his team.
Michael is survived by his husband, Raymond Pikulinski; sisters, Becky Burton Anderson and Wendy Burton Kasprzyk and husband, Larry; half brother Terry Crisp and wife Tykie; niece and nephews, Candice Carpenter and, Brandon Carpenter, Dustyn Carpenter, Aaron Carpenter; great-nephew and niece, Greyson Carpenter-Mooty and Gavin Carpenter
