Mary Jeanette Smith

Mary Jeanette Smith, 94 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 28, 2020 surrounded by her loved ones.

Mary was a farm girl and was born at home on March 1, 1926 in Maydelle, TX to Hattie M. Wooddell and David A. Wooddell. Mary was a strong Christian lady. She and her husband Vance Smith, Sr. moved to Shreveport, LA in 1950 where they owned and operated Smith’s Country Club Drug/ Rexall in west Shreveport for more than 35 years.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Vance Smith Sr.; sisters Virgie Jeffus, Norma Wooddell Childers(R.L) and brother Edward Wooddell (Dorothy).

Left to cherish her memory are her sons Vance Smith, Jr. (Wanda), Randy J. Smith (Linda); seven grandchildren Shawna, Bo, Brandon, Janna, Tyler, Amber, Micah and 13 great-grandchildren; dear nieces and cousins Sherrie, Diane, Tammy, Dicksie, and Louis which she loved her visits and phone calls with. Mary is also survived by other extended family and friends.

A visitation for Mary will be held in the Chapel at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road Shreveport, LA 71108, on Saturday January 2, 2021 from 1:00-1:45pm. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm at the Pavilion in Centuries Memorial Park. Honoring Mary as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
