Mary Lou Hickenbotam Sanders, age 81, of Hallsville, Texas, formerly of Shreveport, LA, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Mary was born in Houston, Texas on April 26, 1941 to Norman and Evelyn Graham.
Mary retired from Southern Plastics as an operator where she worked for many years. She enjoyed many things, but the one thing she cherished most was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren were her everything. Mary enjoyed doing many activities from camping trips and shopping to cooking meals for family gatherings. Burgers were always at the top of the list. Mary will be greatly missed by those who knew her best and loved her most.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kevin Hickenbotam; daughter, Mary "Missy" Solice; twin sister, Margie Sue Nelson; spouses, C.L. Hickenbotam and Bennie Sanders.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Tamrha Woodley (Mike) of Hallsville, TX; son, Dee Ray Rogers of La Porte, TX; grandchildren, Ashley and Haley Woodley of Hallsville, TX, Bryce and Lance Foley of Lubbock, TX, Alyssa Rogers of Deer Park, TX, and Destiney Rogers of La Porte, TX, great grandson, Kaden Carden of Deer Park, TX and very special friend, Jean Dale of Shreveport, LA.
A visitation for Mary will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 12:00-1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108 followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 PM. Officiating the service will be Bro. Richard Kaufman. Interment will take place in Centuries Memorial Park.
The family would like to express special thanks to Hearts Way Hospice of Longview, Texas for their concern and help during this difficult time. They would also like to thank her wonderful guest Tonya Jones and Brigget McFarland for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to East Texas Alzheimer’s Alliance.
