SHREVEPORT, LA – Celebration of Life services for Laura Jean Eason Nash, 83, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012, with visitation to begin at 10:00 a.m. in Centuries Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Jim Gstohl officiating. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, LA.
Mrs. Laura Nash was born March 5, 1929, to the late Marion C. and Laura June Mitchell Eason in Fisher, Louisiana, and went to be with the Lord April 16, 2012. She was baptized at an early age at Florien Baptist Mission Church. Mrs. Nash retired from Caddo Parish School Board in 1993. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the Lamplighters Sunday School class and the Shreveport Transit Women’s Auxiliary. She had a passion for gardening and was our “Green Thumb Grandma” and was at one time a member of the African Violet Society. Mrs. Nash will be remembered as being family oriented, and was considered a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Nash was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband; Kenneth Edsel Nash, one son; Kenny Lynn Nash, and one grandson, Matthew Furlow.
She is survived by one daughter; Kathy Nash Furlow, one grandson; Jeffrey L. Nash and wife Micheal, two granddaughters; Kaley Furlow and Julie Nash Harris and husband Jamey, three great grandchildren; Macy, Shelby, and Jeffrey Harris, one daughter-in-law; Fran Nash along with numerous extended family members and many wonderful friends.
Honoring Mrs. Nash as pallbearers will be Danny Parker, Stan Fletcher, Bobby Flores, Keith Masters, Charles Masters and Ben Sullivan.
The family would like to extend their warmest gratitude to Odyssey Hospice for the special care provided to our loved one including sitters, Beverly Dixon and Eura Dell Reliford.
