Kenneth attended Suqualena High School, where he played basketball. While serving in the U.S. Air Force, he met and married the love of his life Carolyn on July 6, 1956. He retired from BellSouth after 29 years of service as a cable repairman. He was an avid fisherman for many years, which brought him great joy. He enjoyed vacationing with family, working daily crossword puzzles and reading. Kenneth was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn King; daughters, Charlotte King Wilkinson and husband Vic and Sharon King Owens and husband Wayne; grandchildren, Ashley Rose and husband Jon, Tiffany Busch and husband Michael, Anna Rachal and husband Graham; great grandchildren, Connor and Larkin Rose, Bella Busch, Ellis and Oliver Rachal. He also leaves a sweet, furry companion of 14 years, Peaches.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Frances King Blackmon; brother, Jimmie King; and sister-in-law, Peggy King.
A celebration of life for Kenneth will be held Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private family interment will occur in Centuries Memorial Park. Pastor Murry Hodge will be officiating and Ammer Gayle Whatley singing for the service. The family will be livestreaming the service for all who will not be attending on the Centuries Memorial Facebook page. The family asks anyone in attendance to wear their masks and observe social distancing for everyone’s protection.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to honor Kenneth at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
