Katherine S. Head

Services for Mrs. Katherine S. Head, 91, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Katherine was born in Wilson, LA to parents, Gus and Mary McQueen, on November 9, 1926, and passed away on November 17, 2017. She spent her life as a homemaker, taking care of those she loved. Katherine loved to quilt and was an accomplished seamstress. She was an excellent cook, a member of The Eastern Star, and was also on the board of directors at Hap House. “Mamaw”, as her grandchildren called her, will be deeply missed and always loved.

Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Head; her son, Scotty Head; brothers, L.C., David, and Henry McQueen; and her parents. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Shirley McMullen and husband Malcolm, and Katherine Garceau and husband Dan; grandchildren, Joel McMullen, and Kara Schneider and husband Aron; great-grandchildren, Aleeza and Avi Schneider; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
