June Miears Hightower, 79 of Keithville, Louisiana passed away on July 28, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. She was born on April 14, 1942 in Savannah, Georgia to the late Len Miears and Arzenia Harrison Miears Hinson.
To know June was to love her. She loved her family dearly especially her grandchildren. She was known by many as “Memie.”She had a very outgoing personality and was friendly to everyone. She drove a bus for the Caddo Schools for 20 years. June loved everything involving family. She celebrated life to the fullest. She enjoyed the outdoors, and took a particular interest in plants and flowers. To meet her was to love her.
June was a woman of faith and served God with her whole heart. She was a member of Rose Park Baptist Church for many years. She never missed an opportunity to fellowship and share God’s word.
June is survived by her children, Johnny Hightower and wife Cindy, Rhonda Heaberlin and husband Keith, Julie Carpenter and husband Rance, and Roy Hightower and wife Rebecca; sister Shanna Ayers and husband Doug. She is also survived by multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren and a special friend Jerry Henderson.
June is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Leroy Hightower and their beloved yorkie Gizmo. Their faithful dedication to each other and their family has left a legacy of love for many generations to come.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 3 from 10:00am until service time in the Chapel at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road Shreveport, LA 71108. The funeral service for June will begin at 11:00am, with Dustin Tharpe officiating. Following the service, interment will take place in Centuries Memorial Park.
Honoring June as pallbearers will be Dusty Heaberlin, Cody Reeves, Jonathon Hightower, Mark Gladney, Colin Stogner, Rodney Huff, and Noah Tharpe.
