Services will be held for Jerry W. Robertson, 69, on Friday, August 12, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening between the hours of 5-7 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Jerry was born on February 10, 1942, to parents William Clifton and Ruth Elizabeth Robertson and went to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Jerry grew up in Shreveport and was a 1960 graduate of Fair Park High School. He then served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Jerry also worked in the plumbing industry for over 40 years. He was employed by Berg Mechanical and retired as a superintendant from Fitzgerald Contractor’s and was a member of the Plumber’s Local 141.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, William Clifton Robertson; twin sister, Linda Sue Robertson; and his nephew, Shawn David Lewis. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Rhonda Rhodes Robertson; son, Blake Robertson; mother, Ruth Robertson; sister, Ann Lewis and husband, Garland; sister, Sandra Murray; brother, Larry Robertson and wife, Debbie; sister, Judy Magness; numerous nieces, nephews whom he loved very much and were a great part of his life; and a very special group of kids which were like his own, John, Decaf, Lindsay, Lauren, and Ally.

Honoring Jerry as pallbearers are John Adams, Blake Bostic, David Daniel, Brandon Evans, Reggie Lewis, Garland Lewis, Pete Lenox, and Bill Ray. Honorary pallbearers are Blake Robertson, John Bardwell, Cody Blake, Bill J. Ray, and Brandon Ray.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. James Episcopal Church or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
