Helen was born in Shreveport on February 9, 1951 and grew up in Shreveport, where she lived most of her life. She was a devoted wife to her husband Bob Parker, who preceded her in death December 26, 2005, and a loving mother to her six children James, Rebekah, Marcella, Shonda, Shawn, and Russell.
Helen was a pillar of strength and support for her family and friends. She was known for her warm and generous nature, her infectious laughter, and her unwavering faith in God. She had a gift for making everyone feel loved and welcomed, and her home was always open to those in need.
Throughout her life, Helen worked tirelessly to provide for her family, and she was admired for her resilience and determination. She was a skilled cook and homemaker, and she took great pride in her family and her community.
In her free time, Helen enjoyed cooking and sewing, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a source of inspiration and guidance to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
Helen is survived by her six children, James Tallant, Rebekah Thompson, Russell Gildewell, Shawn Glidewell, Marcella Kawa, and Shonda Glidewell as well as her grandchildren Alexis Williams, Devin Thompson, Mia Thompson, Marissa Thompson, and Kaden Thompson and numerous others. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her selflessness, and her unwavering love for her family.
A funeral service for Helen Parker will be held on April 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home and Park in Shreveport LA.
Rest in peace, Helen. You will always be remembered and loved.
