An active member of Woodridge Baptist Church, Everlean served in the past as a Sunday school teacher for senior adult ladies. While a member of Temple Baptist Church, she taught children's Sunday school and worked in an afterschool program. Everlean had a very sweet, sensitive spirit and never lost her desire or willingness to serve her Lord and her church. She was a wonderful cook and well known for bringing homemade dumplings to the monthly senior adult luncheons at church.
Everlean worked at AT&T for twenty-two years. For several years she volunteered in the community with the AT&T Pioneers as a clown named Precious. Everlean truly was precious! She had a beautiful smile and the light and love of Jesus shone in her eyes. Precious brought smiles to the faces of children and adults alike through her clown ministry at Vacation Bible Schools, nursing homes, and Camp Bluebird. Everlean and her daughter, Laura, also participated together in a clown ministry in prisons and on the streets. The focus of their ministry was on leading people to Jesus Christ.
Everlean was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-one years, A.G. Freed; parents, Henry Knight and Clara Knight; two sisters and three brothers.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of twenty years, Tommy Harber; daughters, Tena Denise Parrie (Lester), Laura Ann Jarrett (Bill); stepsons, Russell Harber and Vince Harber; grandchildren, Sonya Parrie, Brandon Parrie (Arlisha), Bobby Jarrett and Kohl Jarrett, and a host of other family and friends.
