Don was born June 15, 1951 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Don graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1969 and then attended Community College, where he studied accounting. He was manager of the Circle K/ 7 Eleven for many years before working at his most recent job at Thrifty Liquor on Pines Road. He was a good person and had a strong belief and faith in Christ. Don had a heart of gold, he would’ve given you the shirt off his back, if anyone asked. He was affectionally known as "Uncle Don" to his special friends, Jennifer and Charla Robertson and Micah McLemore, thanks to them for all they did and treating him like family. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ray T. Shelton; mother, June P. Shelton; and brother, Robert Earl Shelton. Left to cherish his memories are his sisters, Mary Shelton and Barbara Skinner of Shreveport; niece, Meghan Trybus; nephew, Chris Skinner; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family would like to thank Rick Wood and the staff at Thrifty Liquor, for the donations they collected, it was a tremendous help. They are very grateful for everything that Rick and everyone at Thrifty has done for Don during his time working there.
