A Celebration of Life Service honoring Carolyn C. Eason will be held at Brookwood Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will precede the service at 12:00 pm. Pastor John Harp of Brookwood Baptist Church will officiate. He will be assisted by David Rice, Senior Pastor of Brookwood Baptist Church. Carolyn passed from this life on Thursday, February 9, 2023, following a lengthy illness.
Carolyn was born on June 7,1938 in Monroe, Louisiana. She moved to Shreveport at a young age and has resided in Shreveport ever since. She graduated from Fair Park High School in 1956. Through the years, she still remained in close contact with her Fair Park Ladies. Following high school, she attended business school and was a secretary when she met the love of her life, Bobby, on a blind date on New Year’s Eve 1958. Carolyn and Bobby were married in May of 1961 and remained married for 61 years until her death. Following their marriage, Carolyn raised three children, ran a household, and served her church faithfully. At Brookwood Baptist Church, she taught and served in the preschool department for more than 50 years. For many years, she enjoyed playing a weekly game of Maj Jong with her friends. In her later years, Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Irma Crain; one brother, Cedric Crain; one sister, Cassyle Price; and one granddaughter, Mackenzie Colleen Eason. She is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Eason; daughter, Debbie Eason Oliver and husband, Chuck Oliver; daughter, Dennie Eason; son, Daryl Eason and wife, Erin Eason; and grandchildren, Nicholas Oliver and wife, Emily; Brady Eason and fiancé, Ashlyn; Riley Eason McDaniel and husband, Levi; and Collin Eason. She is also survived by one niece and three nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was a kind and wonderful woman who loved God and her family with her whole heart.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Oliver, Brady Eason, Levi McDaniel, Marty Crain, Charlie Price, and Artie Price. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brookwood Baptist Church’s children and youth ministry.
