Betty Rae Addison, age 79, of Shreveport, Louisiana went to her everlasting home Friday September 6, 2019 after a lengthy illness. She was born October 9, 1939 in Many, Louisiana to James Arthur Wedgeworth and Hattie Stuckey Wedgeworth, the youngest of nine children.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Rosie Lee Brodnax; children, Jackie "Bruce" Addison (Evon), Becky Kay Addison, and Robert Wesley Addison (Theresa); numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. She will be deeply missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Robert Claiborne Addison, parents, and seven siblings.
A celebration of Ms. Betty's life will occur Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 2:00 PM, 8801 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana with a visitation beginning at 12:00 PM until the time of the service. An interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park with Pastor Keith Tarkington officiating the services. Honoring her as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Bruce Dewayne Addison, Kevin Addison, Robert Addison, Bernardo Caldwell, Michael Tyler, and LaDarren Tyler. Honorary pallbearer will be Timmy Addison.
The family would like to give special thanks to Shirlee Rittinger, who was a dear friend; Jean Davis and Georgia Tillman with Hill Cross Hospice; Charlotte Farley and Eileen Lewis with St. Joseph Hospice; and all the other staff members for the gentle and sweet care they showed Momma during her illness. The family would also like to express their appreciation for all the prayers, calls, texts, and all other expressions of love, that has been shown during this time.
