She was born in Jasper, Texas on March 19, 1925 to Ora Jane Walker Stewart and George Dudley Stewart, one of ten children. She retired from Schumpert Medical Center as a LPN after 17 years of service. She loved to fish and spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent countless hours in her yard taking care of every flower and blade of grass.
Life celebration services for Anita Stewart Black will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Chapel. Chaplain Dana Casey with Willis Knighton Hospice of Louisiana will be officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 10:00 AM until the service at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar W. Black; her parents and her brothers, Everett “Doc” Stewart, Douglas Stewart Davis and Oline Harris.
She is survived by her son Jeffrey Black along with her grandchildren, Misty Lyles, Tracy Ash and Stewart Black and wife Heather; great grandchildren, Ash Anderson, Olivia Anderson, Dominic Lyles and Samantha Anderson.
She is also survived by her sisters Gaye Folsom of Jasper, TX, Evelyn Stott, and Geraldine Solberg of Port Arthur, TX; brother, Bill Stewart of Vidor, TX; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
