Funeral Mass is under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas and will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 10:00 am at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas with Father Paul Raaz officiating. Interment will follow at Shiner Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel with Catholic Daughters officiating. Visitation will begin on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Buffington Funeral Home.
Georgia was born on March 21, 1928 in Shiner, Texas. She was the daughter of Frank Joseph and Emilie (Hanzlik) Panus. Georgia married Clarence E. Wenske on February 4, 1948 at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas. She was a member of Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas. Georgia was a member of the Catholic Daughters, KJZT, and the 621st MKR. She liked baking for family and friends, listening to music, and doing embroidery. Georgia enjoyed playing bingo and cards. She worked at Kasper Wire Works for 15 years before her retirement.
Georgia is survived by two sons; Clarence Ray Wenske and his wife, Barbara of Victoria, Texas,, David Wenske , two daughters; JoAnn Knezek and her husband, Johnny Ray, Shirley Boedeker and her husband, Donnie, all of Shiner, Texas. Two sisters; Elizabeth Brosch of Rosanky, Texas, Edith Hirsch of Shiner, Texas, one sister-in-law; Leonita Panus of Shiner, Texas, seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Frank Joseph and Emilie Panus, her loving husband; Clarence E. Wenske, two brothers; Frankie Panus, Joe Panus, one sister; Mildred Chilek, and one daughter-in-law; Shirley Wenske.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Wenske will be; Doris Wenske, Daniel Boedeker, Rachel Mika, Charles Wenske, Brenda Fluitt, Michele Knight, and Sherri Vincik.
