Funeral Services are under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas and will be held on Saturday, December27, 2014 at 10:00 am at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Shiner, Texas with Reverend Gary Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at the Shiner City Cemetery in Shiner, Texas. The family will greet friends and guest on Friday, December 26, 2014 beginning at 5:00 pm at Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner, Texas.
Frank was born on August 25, 1929 in Shiner, Texas. He was the son of Fred Henry and Ellen Margaret (Gray) Cook, Sr. Frank served in the US Army during the Korean War, obtaining the rank of Sargent. After his return, he married Karen Wundt at Belmont Methodist Church in Belmont, Texas on April 4, 1964.
Frank enjoyed going hunting and fishing while traveling with the “RV” group. Frank liked to socialize and meet new friends. He was an avid reader of the Bible. He relaxed by watching cartoons. Frank was an auditor for the City of Austin and a farmer/rancher raising prize winning bulls.
He is survived by his wife; Karen cook, one son; Douglas Alan Cook and his wife, Melissa Hoogendan of Houston, Texas, one daughter; Sherri Cook Escalante of Austin, Texas, two grandsons; Stuart Cook of Houston, Texas, David Cook of Houston, Texas, three granddaughters; Lindsay Escalante of Austin, Texas, Zoe Escalante of Austin, Texas, Caroline Cook of Houston, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Fred and Ellen Cook, Sr.; two brothers; Fred Henry Cook, Jr., John “Jack” Cook, four sisters; Doris Sterling, Ruby Stanek, Edna Wiedenfeld, and Eula Mae Barnette.
