Shirley A. Rohde

Shirley was born April 30, 1929 in Prentice, WI to the late Almon W. and Frances (Rosenbeck) Davenport.

She graduated from Sheboygan Central High School, class of 1947.

On September 3, 1949 Shirley Davenport and Willard Rohde were united in marriage at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, he preceded her in death on April 2, 1988.

She was employed at Security First National Bank for over 25 years until her retirement in 1987.

Shirley was a long time member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.

She was involved in Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and volunteered for Bethesda Thrift Store, Red Cross Blood Bank, and Sunny Ridge Nursing Home.

Shirley enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.

Shirley is survived by her son, Daniel (Cheryl) Rohde of Sheboygan; her daughter, Jane Benson of Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Peter Rohde, Kelly Rohde, Jennifer (Matt) Paral, all of Sheboygan, and Nicole (James) Braun of Kiel; five great-grandchildren, Grace, Chase, Logan, McKenna, and Kolton; sister, Phyllis Tauschek of Sheboygan; special friend, Doris Backes of Sheboygan; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Ballhorn Chapels and Crematory. Rev. John Berg, Associate Pastor, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Shirley’s family sends a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers and staff at Harbor House and Heartland Hospice for the compassion and care shown to her.

A memorial fund has been established in Shirley’s name.
