Robert was born November 12, 1932 in Winona, Minnesota to John and Ethel (Hughes) Kriescher. His family moved to Chicago when he was a youngster.
He served his country in the National Guard in the early 1950’s.
He was previously married to Evelyn Labitzke and they made their home and raised their five children in Chicago.
For many years Robert was employed as a printer, working at many different printing companies to support his family. Following retirement he ventured to Ladysmith where he took great delight in hobby farming. He also enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening as well as socializing with his buddies at various watering holes.
He is survived by five children, Robert James (Nancy) Kriescher, Jr, Daniel T. Kriescher, Christopher A. Kriescher all of Chicago, Richard A. Kriescher of Ladysmith, and Catherine L. (Raul) Del Valle’ of Sheboygan; seven grandchildren, Robert Kriescher III, Daniel Kriescher, Jr, Melissa Kriescher, Elizabeth Kriescher, Antonio Del Valle’, Jacob Del Valle’, and Jonathan Del Valle’; one great-grandson, Dominic Westerfield; other surviving brothers, sisters and his faithful canine companion of 18 years, Bernadette.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother and other siblings.
A visitation in celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels, 1201 N. 8th St., Sheboygan, WI 53081.
A second visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Drake & Sons Funeral Home, 5303 N. Western Ave., Chicago, IL 60625.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, 2517 W. Logan Blvd., Chicago, IL 60647.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
