Evelyn was born September 4, 1917 in Sheboygan to William and Sophie (Raffelson) Bensman. She was a graduate of Sheboygan High School, Class of 1935.
On May 8, 1943 she was united in marriage to Milton Rudnick in Salinas, Kansas where he was serving his country in the US Army.
After his honorable discharge they returned to Sheboygan where they owned and operated Rudnick Jewelers along with his brother, Charles.
Milton preceded her in death on March 23, 1993.
Evelyn was a member of Beth El Congregation and its Sisterhood and Hadassah. She was also a volunteer at the American Red Cross, the Sheboygan Senior Center, and The Home Spun Post.
She is survived by her sons, Stuart (Doreen Braverman) Rudnick of Los Angeles, CA and Alan (Pamela) Rudnick of Elkhart Lake, WI; grandchildren, Paul Rudnick of Elkhart Lake, WI Jeffrey Rudnick of Elkhart Lake, WI Annie Beth Rudnick of Brooklyn, NY, and Elizabeth Rudnick of Los Angeles, CA; her sister-in-law, Esther Bensman of Sheboygan; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Milton, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Jo; her brother, John Bensman; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Caroline (Morris) Petasnick, Ceilia (Abe) Rich, Frances (George) Templar; Charles (Eleanor) Rudnick, and Minnie (Al) Rosenblum; and three nieces, Natalie Klapman, Freya Mora, and Bobbi Petasnick.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Ballhorn Chapels. Allen Stessmann will officiate. Burial will follow at the Sheboygan Hebrew Cemetery. A time of visitation and support will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Congregation Beth El Endowment, or to the charity of your choice .
