Wit Chainakul, MD was a resident of Shawnee for 40 years. He was born in the city of Trang in Thailand. He graduated from Chulalongkorn Medical School in 1970 in Bangkok, Thailand. He married Pachneerat in 1971 and they moved to Brooklyn, New York where he completed his internship and surgical residency. They lived there for 9 years. They moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma where he opened his solo private practice. He was respected and loved by his patients. He retired from his medical practice in 2012. He was a lifetime member of the Oklahoma State Medical Association. He was an active leader in the Wat Sangkaratanaram Buddhist Temple in Oklahoma City. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pachneerat, son Wuti and wife, Juliane, son Weera and his wife, Nikki, and son, Wicha. Grandchildren William, Wesley, Lillien, Emalyn, Jude, Chaisee, Sirakit, Tessanee, Camilla, and Phoebe, and loving family in Thailand.
