Winnifred Lee (McClain) Gray born June 25, 1926 to Roy Lee McClain and Mary Edith (Finch) McClain passed from this life on July 15, 2022 at the age of 96. The oldest of nine children she grew up on the river in the Dale area but most of her adult life she lived in Shawnee.
Her working career was in the Hearing Health Care field for almost 30 years. She enjoyed her retirement years camping with Neal at Lake Texhoma, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church where her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren remember attending services with her.
She married Neal E Gray in 1943 and they lived happily together for 62 years until his passing in 2005. Together they had two children, Gary and Linda Sue. Winnie's proudest accomplishment was her big family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Neal, their son, Gary E. Gray, her parents Mary Edith (Finch) McClain and Roy Lee McClain, One sister Evelyn Atkinson, Six Brothers Ralph Willard McClain, Wilbur Roy McClain, John Howard McClain, James Elvis McClain, Kenneth McClain, and Jerald McClain.
Winnie is survived by her daughter Linda Sue Combs and husband George, daughter in law Linda Gray, grandchildren Sherri Gray Ragsdale, Terri and Maribel Gray, Shelli Gray and husband Charles Gray, Kelli Gray McCullar, Suzanne Gray Prichard, Philip Combs and wife Kristy, Michelle (Combs) Glenn and husband Sam, and Chris Combs and fiancée Amy Sanders, youngest sister Mary Lopez, 19 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her Grandson’s Philip Combs, Chris Combs, Dylan Combs, Cody Pritchard, Blake Wignton, and Jon Wood.
The Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Resthaven Funeral Home in Shawnee with Rev. Mike Craig officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh City Cemetery.
