Paul Eugene Clark born July 3, 1924, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017. He was ninety-three years young. He served his country during WWII as a Lieutenant on the aircraft carrier USS Boxer as a Corsair Fighter Pilot. He held onto his dream and continued flying, teaching at the University of Oklahoma as chief flight instructor at Max Westheimer Airport, moving on to the FAA as an airman exam specialist until his retirement.
He married Joy Marie Day in 1958 and had three sons; Charles Clark of Shawnee, Mark Clark of Tecumseh and Don Paul Clark who died in 2008. Paul and Joy were married for fifty-four years until her death in 2012. He was a tribal member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and attended St. Benedicts Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Resthaven Funeral Home, Shawnee, OK, followed by a Rosary service at 7:00 pm.
Funeral Mass will be Friday, 10:00 am, September 22, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Norman, Oklahoma where he attended school as a child, married, and his three children served as altar boys.
