Shawnee resident Helen A. Elliott died Monday, July 29, 2013 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Helen was born December 1, 1928, to “Lizzie and “Bill” Kottke in Earlsboro, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church. She attended Fairview and Earlsboro schools, graduating from Earlsboro High school in 1946.
Helen married Louis Elliott in December of 1947. She was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell and worked for Grave’s Floral Company for 20 years retiring in 1990.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two daughters, Vesta Kay and Shirley Ann Elliott; a son, Dean Elliott; two sisters, Elsie Kottke and Marie McRee; and two brothers Bill and Alvin Kottke.
Helen is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Wanda Elliott, Moore, OK; a granddaughter, Andrea Elliott, Shawnee, OK; a grandson and great grandson, Brandon and Landon Dean Elliott, Meeker, OK; a step-daughter, Lynette Haider, Harvard, IL; two sisters, Dorothy Mikish, Rogers, AR and Pauline Crane, Shawnee, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.
