George Carl Schramm

He was born in Kearny, NJ on June 1, 1934 the son of the late George Carl Schramm and Gertrude Helen Harrison Schramm, also preceded in death by a son, Robert James Schramm.

Mr. Schramm was a member of St. James Episcopal Church. He was a volunteer fireman and former Chief for West Keansburg, NJ. He was past president of New Jersey Fire Chief’s Association, also a volunteer fireman for Tri Beach Fire Department. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Jacquelin Virginia Schramm of the home; one son, William Arthur Schramm and wife, Gail of West Keansburg, NJ; three daughters, Deborah Ann Layton and Terry Hewett of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, and Kathleen Denise Desjean and husband, Raymond of Supply, NC and Cynthia Sue Cambeis and husband, George also of Supply; a brother, Edward Arthur Schramm of Arizona; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; a former son-in-law, John Layton of Ocean Isle Beach, NC.

A celebration of life will be held 12 Noon on Thursday January 5, 2017 at St. James the Fisherman Episcopal Church, 4941 Main Street Shallotte by The Reverend David J. Davis Rector.

The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 3:00 to 6:00 in the afternoon at White Funeral and Cremation Service Shallotte Chapel, 3660 Express Drive.
