David Bart Norwood

Mr. Norwood was born March 16, 1950 in Monroe, North Carolina, son of the late Herbert and Edna Norwood. He was a fun-loving man and a longtime devout member of United Vision Pentecostal Church. He was also a supporter of Wounded Warriors Project and a longtime member of the NRA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Annie "Judy" Norwood in 2019.

Survivors include his stepchildren, Arey "Tom" Shankle, III of Little River, South Carolina, Judy Ann Robinson of Chicago, Illinois, Donna Chavis of Aberdeen, North Carolina, Carrie Garner of McCall, South Carolina, and Randy Shankle of Marshville, North Carolina; one sister, Diane Thackston of Fort Mill, South Carolina;17 step grandchildren; 20 step great grandchildren; nephew, Paul Joseph Somers of Redding, California; nieces, Dinah Bryant of Rock Hill, South Carolina and Regina Thackston of Rock Hill, South Carolina; and great nephew, Francis Dylan Thackston of Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Funeral services will be Sunday, April 28, 2024 at three o'clock in the afternoon at United Vision Pentecostal Church with Reverend Ricky Hewett officiating. Entombment will be Friday, May 3, 2024 at eleven-thirty in the morning at Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe, North Carolina.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from two o'clock until three o'clock at the church on Sunday.
