Chuck was born January 9, 1936 in East Orange, New Jersey, son of the late Charles F Nash Sr and Catherine Cox Nash. He attended St. Benedicts Prep in Newark, New Jersey and graduated from Villanova University in 1957 with a BSME. His Master's degree was obtained from NJIT in 1963 where he graduated Cum Laude. Chuck was awarded a lifetime membership as a Fellow in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
While living in Roseland, New Jersey he served on the town planning board for several years and also served as a town Councilman from 1969-1972. While working at Foster Wheeler Corporation as project manager he was responsible for building a Modular Vault Dry Storage Facility for nuclear fuel, the first of it's kind in the U.S. He was granted three patents while working on rocket engines.
Chuck and his wife Ellen moved to the Brierwood community in Shallotte, NC where he enjoyed golfing and retirement. He was a quiet loving man with a dry sense of humor. He was a devoted brother and caregiver to his sister Susan for 55 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Susan and his son Michael. Although Michael's life was only 19 years, he inspired Chuck and all who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Ellen, of Ocean Isle Beach; his son Christopher of Ocean Isle Beach who brought his dad much joy and humor as well as his nightly ice cream and goodies. His absence will be deeply felt by his Pennsylvania and Colorado cousins as well as the "Connelly Clan", and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday October 29, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St Brendan's Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium immediately following the service.
