Philip “Phil” Hayduke Jr. was received by our Holy Father on Sunday, October 4, 2020.
He was born in East Syracuse, N.Y. He worked on the family farm in a butcher shop and picked potatoes on a farm in high school. He married the love of his life (Genevieve) in 1954 and they lived in Liverpool, N.Y. on a family farm where he worked as a dairy farmer/farmer. He became an entrepreneur with his brother(Andrew), running businesses such as a used car lot, motel owner and Hayduke service station. He then moved his family to Florida in 1973 where he worked in construction and real estate.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, (Genevieve); parents, Philip and Pauline Hayduke (Sr); his brother, (Harry); brother, (Andrew) and sister in law, (Betty). He is survived by his 8 children; John (Jeanne), Tom (Peggy), Theresa (Jim), Phil (Cathy), Jim (Tracey), Ray (Lindy), Cathy (Rich) and Mary (Rod); his 30 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; his sister in law, Margaret Crowe and many nieces and nephews. He was a devoted husband and father. He was active in the Men’s Club at St. John Vianney Catholic School and Church Usher at St. John’s Vianney Catholic Church.
Above all, he lived a life devoted to family and faith. A tribute to Phil’s life will be held from 6-8 pm Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Garden Sanctuary Funeral Home in Seminole, FL. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 am Friday, October 9, 2020 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Seminole, FL. Interment will be at 1:30 pm at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Clearwater, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Phil’s name to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church or Marchforlife.org/give-today.
