James Stephen Davis passed on June 7, 2024 after a short battle with cancer. Jim was born in Malden, Massachusetts on January 17, 1939 to Blanche Lillian (Morley) Davis and Charles Alfred Davis. Jim graduated from Malden High School in 1957. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at 18. He honorably served for 20 years, 17 of those were in Special Forces achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. His service included Vietnam and was a decorated veteran. Among his many metals, he earned 2 Bronze Stars, the 4th highest military decoration for valor.
After retiring from the military, Jim earned his bachelor’s degree and worked for the Insurance Industry. Jim married Marie Louise Gozdek in 1964. They welcomed their firstborn son, Stephen Charles Davis in the Fall of that year. Steve lives in South Carolina and works for the Pharmaceutical Industry. He has two sons, Brad and Ben. In 1967, they welcomed their second son, James Stephen Davis, Jr. Jim lives in Florida and works in the Insurance Industry. He married Kelly Frisco last October and he has two children from a previous marriage, Ryan and Emily.
Pops, as Jim was affectionately known, loved his family, friends, neighbors, many pets, music from the 50’s, The Florida State Seminoles, playing online poker and his Bacardi & Coke at Outback on Family Dinner Fridays…”Don’t forget the lime!”.
He joins his wonderful, kind, loving wife, Marie “LuLu” Davis…together eternally. He is survived by two nephews and a niece and several great nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service at Bay Pines National Cemetery on July 12, 2024 at 12:30. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Disabled American Veterans Association or Wound Warriors.
