Donita Carter

Donita Carter (High), age 74, passed away on Sunday December 31, 2023. Donita was a resident of Ormond Beach and included in her list of joyful moments walking on the beach just 100 steps from her home. Her most joyful moments were being with her family, especially her four grandchildren Alexander Stubbs, Sydney Stubbs, Emily Morande, and Anthony Morande. She shared her life with her beloved husband Stephen Carter and children, Stephanie Stubbs and Marie Morande. She laid to rest her son and angel on earth, Michael Carter, he was 17.

Donita started life in Gary Indiana. She was raised in the Nazarene church and counted her years in teen pal as a special time in her life. She attended Merrillville High School where she was proudly the editor of the school yearbook. After high school she attended Olivet Nazarene University where she met Stephen. They soon married and nurtured a beautiful family legacy. Later in life, Donita was proud to earn a Bachelor degree in sociology. As part of the Jacksonville Children’s Commission, she enjoyed her work to support children in need throughout Jacksonville.

Donita will be remembered as a person who spread kindness, who would be there when needed and gave unconditional love to everyone she met. Donita is deeply mourned by her family and friends.

The Family will hold a memorial service at Garden Sanctuary Funeral Home and Cemetery on February 3, 2024 at 1:00pm. Garden Sanctuary is located at 7950 131st St. N. Seminole Florida 33776
