He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Phyllis, family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Godfrey Hartman; mother, Helen Seely; brother, Paul and sister Marie.
Dave was born and raised in Owosso, MI. He was an Army veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam War, 1965-1967. Dave and Phyllis moved to Florida in 1985, settling in Seminole, after spending many years vacationing here. He was tired of the cold and snow. Prior to moving, he worked in the automotive repair industry and was a semi-truck driver for a few years. In Florida he owned the first Mad Hatter Muffler franchise which he operated for 6 years before deciding to sell. Dave then went to work in a body shop until he retired. He loved being around cars. Dave loved to travel and he and his Phyllis enjoyed many trips together including Alaska, Hawaii, the Panama Canal and many Caribbean islands. He also loved to gamble so Las Vegas and Biloxi, MS were 2 of his favorite go to places. Dave loved the beach, Disney World, fast cars and motorcycles, owning several corvettes over the years and a Harley Davidson Sportster. He was a long time member of Suncoast Corvette Association. Dave loved being with friends and having a good time. In his neighborhood he could often be found sharing a beer with a neighbor after polishing his car. Per his request, there will not be a service.
