Ola Mae Brown Parker, 90, of Seguin, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center. She was born to John Earl Brown and Bessie Augusta (Watts) Brown in Wrightsboro, Texas on June 26, 1925.
Ola Mae ran two businesses in Rockport, TX before moving to Seguin; a landscaping company and interior design company. In Seguin she ran her farm and Ranch called Dusty Oaks. She loved fishing, flowers, decorating and landscaping. Ola had a bird sanctuary at her ranch where college students would come to learn and train on exotic birds. Later Ola and her husband started Dusty Oaks RV Park and Campgrounds. She was a devoted member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Addie G. Parker; daughters, Linda L. Batten and Carol S. Schroth; brothers, Donald Brown and Clifford Brown; sister, Florene Bauer; grandchildren, Tina Batten-Baker, Tammy J. Woods and Jasen E. Schroth; great-grandchildren, A. James Batten, Jennifer M. Kyrish, Ashlee M. Melancon, Chance J. Woods, Jaysin Schroth and Brieanna Schroth; great-great-grandchildren, Alexis Batten, Nicolas Batten, Maelynn Kyrish, Haliey Kyrish, Karlee Melancon, Wyatt Melancon, Scarlette Woods; numerous nieces and nephews.
Public Visitation will begin 5:00 PM Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Goetz Funeral Home and will continue until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Amazing Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Terry Davis Officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Pall-bearers are: Gary Woods, James Baker, Jasen Schroth, James Batten, Chance Woods, Jaysin Schroth; Honorary-Pallbears are: Chris Melancon and Wesley Kyrish. Memorial Contributions may be given to Amazing Grace Baptist Church. Arrangements under the direction of Goetz Funeral Home, Seguin, TX.
