Ruth E. Olsen

Ruth E. Olsen. (nee Coughlin) 93, of Secaucus, NJ entered into rest at her home where she raised her family, with her son Louis and her wonderful caregiver Yolanda at her side, on Wednesday October 6, 2010.

Beloved wife of the late Louis O. Olsen. Devoted mother of Louis Olsen & Barbara Tulko, Helen Allen, Oscar Olsen and the late George Olsen. Adoring grandmother of Laurie E. Mumford, Brian L. Olsen, Oscar P. Olsen, Christina Olsen, Henry C. Allen III, Harrison L. Allen and Howard G. Allen and loving great grandmother of 6 great grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Arthur and Joseph Coughlin. Aunt of Mary Ellen Sandholm whom she also considered a "daughter". Ruth worked for Flexi-Van Service Center until retiring at the age of 92 and had it not been for her illness, she would have been ready to be picked up to go to work every morning even now, as she was passionate about her job. She was the oldest living member of the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour and a member of their Altar Guild. Ruth was a life member of the Girl Scouts of American and was honored as a “Saint” of her faith by the Diocese of Newark. Ruth adored her family more than anything and spent countless hours entertaining all of her grandchildren throughout their lives. They are all very lucky to have had such a wonderful "Mommoms". Everyone who ever knew Ruth will always remember her for her truly Christian values, her love of family, her passion for her work and her faith and as the lovely woman who always had an ever winning smile and kind word.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ. The family will gather at the funeral home with their relatives & friends on Tuesday at 11:15 AM for a 12 noon Funeral Service at The Episcopal Church of Our Saviour, 191 Flannigan Way, Secaucus, Interment to follow at Flower Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ruth may be made to The Episcopal Church of Our Saviour.
