I am Dave Blake, owner of Fox Recording Studios. I opened the studio in 1977, and within 3 or 4 months John came up the stairs with a whole bunch of session work. We immediately hit it off and became fast friends. Through the past 47 years, we have done hundreds of sessions together. John was a spectacular musician and a tremendous arranger. He and I covered pretty much every soundscape and genre in music.  I am going to miss him terribly, especially his sense of humor and bad puns. Oh yes, and lets not forget his uncanny ability to eat pizza. He added an enormous contribution to the tristate musical world and now it is time for him to rest. God Bless you John, Maestro-my very dear friend.

To my old friend John ,                                                                                                                                                                       From the days of the milktruck, to the 15th st gang,to playing every club in Jersey and the metro area, and finally to the stage at Radio City Music Hall we shared many good times together. Even though you weren't yourself it was good to see in July and September at not,however ,the best of surroundings,but you did get to smile and remember some of those times!          You were an important part of my life and I was lucky to know you . God blessed us with you and now he's got you back , keep making music my friend! I was so sorry to hear of John' passing.  The Tamke and Lepore's  were best family friends.  Doris and my mom Ruth grew up together and my dad an John Sr.  Were best buddies.  We all grew up together.  ..And I followed John's band in the early years.  Great memories.  Elaine Tamke Magyar ❤️

We always thought John would just be making music forever.  Now he's  making music  "Up There".   He has left us with so much that we still play today.  He did the music for my original recording of
"Thank You Johnny" and knocked it out of the park.
Rest in Peace John, until we meet again.

I knew John from The Cameos where he would fill in for us on keyboards and piano. Truly a gentleman and extremely talented. I enjoyed our talks together.  I will miss him.  Beautiful man.  God Bless John and the family.

I remember Mr. Lepore when I first went to ASH. He was one of the few friendly face and as both my Italian teacher and head of choir he was there. He was kind and generous with time. My family and I were reminiscing about the quality of teacher he was and his impact to my years as a student. My family and I send our condolences and prayers to the Lepore family. He will be greatly missed but not forgotten.

I was so sad to hear of John’s passing. He was a gentle soul as well as a very talented man. We did many music ventures together and I will miss him.  John has certainly left his mark in the music business and I know he’s playing his heart out in heaven. He ll be a great asset to the many musicians that went before him. RIP my friend.
