Barbara was born in Jersey City but spent her childhood moving around the south, as the daughter of a Navy sailor. As a teenager she returned to Jersey City where she attended Dickenson High School and met the love of her life Steve Piscopo. Barbara and Steve were married in 1966 and went on to build a life together spending most of their married life in West Paterson, NJ. Barbara was a loving mother to her only child Clarissa and later a loving mother in law to Clarissa’s husband Jonathan who Barbara always treated as her own son. Barbara worked hard her entire life and together with Steve established a successful carpet business where she ran their store in Passaic for over 20 years. Barbara managed everything; the purchase and delivery, sales, scheduling, kept the books, and never hesitated to pitch in with slinging a roll of carpet over her shoulder to get the job done. In retirement barbara moved to Bayville, NJ and enjoyed a quiet life with her devoted husband Steve who took wonderful care of her during her final years. Together they enjoyed taking walks but above all Barbara lived for taking care of and doting upon her three grandchildren.
Barbara never complained and had an unwavering habit of putting everyone else before herself. She was known and loved for her generosity, kindness and going out of her way to help others. She was truly a blessing for all who she came upon in life.
Barbara leaves behind her devoted husband Stephen Piscopo, her children Clarissa and Jonathan Barresi, her cherished grandchildren Santino (17), Jonah (9), and Cora Barresi (7), her sister Mary Elizabeth (Betsy) Jamison of Marion, NC, her brothers and sisters in-law, Robert Eccles, Mary Jamison, Nancy Cashnelli, and Gerald Piscopo, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends all of whom she adored.
She is predeceased by her parents Dallas Boyd Jamison and Mary Irene Lucy and her sisters Carolyn Jamison Wilson Paige, Irene Eccles, and her brother Charles Bo Jamison.
