Zetta Elsie O’Brien was 76 years of age, born on July 30, 1940 in Nelson, British Columbia to parents Elza Leon Dodd & (June) Euguine Vetiline Lacoursiere. She is survived by her sister, Jane Burns, her brother, Lloyd Dodd has passed.
Zetta married the love of her life, Dale O’Brien on August 24, 1957 at the young age of 16 and Dale at 18. With a love that would last decades and until her passing. Our mom was a lover of life, family and friends. She was a friend to all and to her boys , well, she was the greatest gift they could have had. You will be missed, love you mom.
If her presence was in the room, you knew it. She was beautiful, vivacious, stubborn, generous, loud and had a laugh that was addicting. As a kid it could be embarrassing at times, but as we matured we realized the gift our mother possessed and any who knew her knows what we mean; cherish your memories.
Zetta loved RVing and traveling, always with family and friends. When Dale passed she kept traveling abroad, she joined a timeshare and was always planning her next destination. She actually had a trip planned to Leavenworth, which was to take place at this time. Although the struggle was getting harder, nothing was going to stop her, this is where the stubbornness comes in. The trip planned was not what any of us expected but I know she is truly happy and at peace in the arms of her beloved Dale. Rest in Peace, love always. Zetta’s husband, Dale O’Brien, died in 1995. She is survived by sons Chris O’Brien and his wife Maggie and Kerry O’Brien and his partner Tim Smith. Grandchildren Brandon, Rachel and Ciru. Great Grandchildren Jaden, Jack, Max and Mya as well as her dog Button.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 2pm in the chapel at Acacia Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 14951 Bothell Way NE, Seattle 98155.
