A funeral service will occur Friday, March 10, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133. A committal service will occur Friday, March 10, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133.
William W. Kingston (Bill)
April 1, 1941 – February 18, 2023
Bill passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the age of 81.
He was born in Seattle, Washington and in 1945 he moved to a farm in
Northern Idaho. In 1958 he moved from Idaho to Port Orchard, Washington where he graduated from high school June of 1960.
Bill started his working career in 1963 as a custodian in the Northern Life Tower where he worked until January 1973. He finished his career working as a custodian for Metro Transit January 22, 1973 until he retired on September 30, 1999. He was very proud to be a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 587 and continued to remain a member into his retirement.
He enjoyed traveling with his mother, taking several cruises, and traveling to Finland numerous times. He worked at the Streetcar barn the last several years of his career and always wanted to travel to Australia where the streetcars were built. He was able to take that trip with a friend and a caregiver.
He ended his traveling days with trips to Peoria, Arizona to attend the Seattle Mariners spring training. He was able to take these trips with a very dear friend and caregiver, Lucinda Grall. He bought season tickets to the Mariners home games which he also attended with Lucinda.
Bill was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Ballard for many years.
He was a collector of many things…some being coins, stamps, pocket watches, belt buckles and lapel pins from the various places he traveled. And he had a large collection of Mariners memorabilia including bobbleheads, books and pins.
He is survived by his loving and caring sister, Kathy Kingston, neice Debra Croskey, nephew Darryl Croskey (Jing) and great nephew Noah Croskey.

A memorial service will be held at Evergreen Washelli in Seattle on March 10, 2023 at 11:00 A.M.
