Our beloved William "Bill" Harold Cooley passed away peacefully in the arms of his family at Swedish/Edmonds, Sunday, March 10, 2013. He was born in Spokane, WA on Friday, April 13, 1923 to Harold Cooley and Mae Cooley (Pattison). Moved to Wallingford; Latona Elem; Hamilton JH; Boy Scouts; Times Carrier; Lincoln HS (1941). That spring met June Nelson, Ballard HS (1941); married 1945. Attended UW 1941-1944; BS (1944); MS (1957); Mech. Eng.; Sigma Xi Res. Soc.; Amer. Soc. of Mech. Eng.; Joined Navy, 1944; LTJG; USS Kitkun Bay. Hired by Boeing, 1949; hydraulics; retired 1985. Raised family in Magnolia; opened "Travel Fever", 1984; traveled world; enjoyed cruises. Volunteered at Sea-King Co. Conv. & Vis. Bur.; helped daughter Lynn, librarian, at Rainier View, Bagley and Broadview-Thomson Elem. Was on Stevens Pass Ski Patrol; avid ice skater; wooden boat builder with son Bruce; UW football season ticket holder; six Rose Bowls; cruised San Juan Islands on the "Four Bells"; enjoyed lake homes of Lynn on Shoecraft and Bruce on Moses. Was very methodical; extremely proud of his grandchildren; Christopher Ryan Cooley and Chase Austin Cooley; also survived by wife, June Cooley of Edmonds, WA; daughter, Lynn (Bruce) Edwards of Stanwood, WA; son, Dr. Bruce (Karen) Cooley of Puyallup, WA.
