Our beloved father, Walter Zuk, was born on July 2, 1951 in New York. He was the firstborn child of John and Anna Zuk. Anna was 6 months pregnant with Walter when they immigrated from Ukraine to America by way of Ellis Island.
Walter graduated from La Salle Academy in New York and went on to pursue an engineering degree at Columbia University before deciding to travel around the world. He completed additional education at the University of Washington focusing on Geology. He later opened his own automotive repair business specializing in foreign cars and marine engine repairs.
Dad married our mother Marian Zuk on August 3, 1985 after purchasing their house in Ballard, Washington where they raised two daughters Larissa and Adrianna. We cherish the memories we’ve had with our father and will miss him deeply. We will never forget our memories of him taking us sailing to the San Juan Islands in the summer when we were growing up. Walter was very proud of his daughters and shared his love for travel, adventure, sailing, animals, and music with us. His passion for history, engineering, storytelling, and singing greatly influenced the lives we live today. Walter recently became a proud grandpa to Sebastian Rider and loved him dearly.
Dad has been received by our Father in Heaven and we know he is smiling down upon us. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 27, 2020 at his home in Seattle, Washington.
Walter’s final resting place is at Acacia Memorial Park in Seattle, Washington.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
