Shirley Wagner passed away October 28 joining her adoring husband, Gerald who preceded her. Shirley and her husband founded Ballard Insulation, a once trusted symbol of honesty and integrity in the maritime industry.
Shirley is survived by her son, Robert and his wife MaryJo, nieces Jan Murray and Cindy Teeples, and their husbands Tom and Scott, along with grand children Peter, Clint, Roman, and Natalie, as well as their spouses. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents George and Helen Sawyer, sister Donna Lee and her husband Dick Myers, brother Terry Sawyer, son Dale, and nephew Rick Myers.
Shirley grew up in Umatilla, Oregon, married Gerald Wagner and relocated to the Ballard area of Seattle in the mid 60s where she remained until her death. Shirley survived six bouts of cancer but in the end the Covid virus was too much. The family asks, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Kaplan Cancer Research Fund, C/O Swedish Hospital, 747 Broadway, Seattle, Wa 98104. Without Dr. Kaplan, both Gerald and Shirley would not have enjoyed as many years of life as they did. A celebration of life will be scheduled in the near future.
