S. Daniel Harkins

S. Daniel HARKINS 1/29/1933 ~ 8/17/2010 Dan passed away peacefully at the age of 77 surrounded by family after a 10 month battle with cancer. Born and raised in Spokane, WA. He began in the beer industry with Joey August in the late 1950's. Dan and his wife, Nancy, moved to Seattle in 1962 where Dan and partner George Little went on to start the Lucky Lager Distributorship. Dan spent the next 40+ years working with Sid Eland and K&L Distributors. Dan was a major league sunbather, sports enthusiast, golfer, and put together quite the annual garage sale. He is a member of the Inland NW Sports Hall of Fame (fastpitch softball). Those who knew Dan, and there are many, loved his smile, genuine caring of others, and endless stories. Dan was a wonderful Father, Husband, Uncle, and the kind of friend one is lucky to have. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy, sons: Dan, JD, Blake, grandchildren, sister Dorothy, brother-in-laws: Jason (Carol), Hillard (Joanne) and many nieces and nephews. Dad is now at peace & playing the finest golf courses we have yet to see. And to all of his numerous friends of Bill W, God Grant You the Serenity ... his thoughts & prayers are always with you.
