Gram, these boys miss you just as much as I miss you. Haji will soon be out of school for the summer as a kindergarten graduate and first grade in the fall. Hakeem is a 1 1/2 year old he points to your pictures on the wall and he tries to say great gram. But just says gram, we miss you so much. I miss calling you daily, visiting you. I just look at the pictures and talk to them. Miss you and love you gram

We miss you gram everyday. You are talked about often. I miss picking up my phone and calling you multiple times a day, bringing you food, visiting you with my boys. Life is busy with two kids but we still talk about you, and miss you daily. Memories of good times are held special in my heart. We miss you and love you dearly. Xoxo 

Gram, you are missed so very much. Lida’s gift to herself and to me. I sprayed it and my eyes water of sadness. Second Christmas without you it’s very hard to believe. We talk about you all the time. I know you are looking down on us as I have another little boy to love with all my heart. In a way his fingers are long like yours and mamas. I miss you everyday gram.

At little chinooks today remembering Gram. Can’t believe it’s been one year. 

A day I will never forget. I miss you gram, more than words can express. 8:30pm a year ago my heart just stopped beating for a few seconds when I received the second worse phone call of my life. Gram has passed away. You go numb and all you can do is scream and cry. Panicking and shaking because you lost your best friend, gram, great gram, a second mom. I rushed over to Foss to say my last goodbyes and get barely any sleep that night. Ever since that night my heart hurts and broken. A piece of me went with my gram. I see you in my dreams, I want to call you everyday, but all I have left is memories, pictures, letters, and voicemails that I will hold dear to my heart. Gram, I’m so grateful and blessed Haji got to spend time with you as much as possible. We talk about you a lot and will never stop. I LOVE YOU and miss you to the stars and beyond.

Gram, gram! I can’t explain on how much I miss you. Really miss calling you daily, coming to bring you food. And most of all Miss you being here on earth. But I know you are with me in spirit and with me daily. I can’t believe tomorrow will be 11 months. It is very hard to believe. So many emotions and tears and all I want to do is call you up and visit with you and hug you. Gram, I miss our conversation a lot miss your wit and laugh. 
I love you gram and miss you more and more everyday! You are the best gram ever! 

6 months gram! I love you dearly and miss you more than ever. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you, want to pick up that phone to call you and see how you are doing. You are my best friend and my best pal. Also my best grandma anyone could ask for and great grandma too. We talk about you a lot.. I miss seeing you but I see you in my dreams. Gram, miss you so much. It’s the Christmas season. Your favorite holiday. And it’s a hard one for this granddaughter of yours! You are very much missed by many. I miss you so very much gram. A big hole is in my heart this season. Love you gram!

Losing a mother is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know.
But her goodness, her caring and her wisdom live on like a legacy of love that will always be with us.  
May that love surround us us now and bring us peace.  Those we love do not go away.  They walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near.  So loved, so missed and very dear.

                                    Celebrating the life of Ruby Parker. 
On Saturday October 9th  we gathered together at one of her favorite places, Golden Gardens, to honor her.  Back in the day,  she spent many summers with her friends enjoying the park, sun and sand.   We shared fond memories and funny stories, as well as some of her favorite Scandinavian pastries and banana muffins.  
                       Many thanks to all that joined us in honoring her.
She is at peace now, in a better place with all her family and friends.
 

Ruby...
I met her when she and Lesley and Jon moved into our Ravenna neighborhood. I learned to appreciate her sharp wit. She was such a good and kind and caring person. I always enjoyed visiting with her.  She cared so much for her family and friends. 

I smile as I remember some of her favorite words - a couple of the favorites - gruesome, repulsive! She was not afraid to tell it like it was and I liked that!

Lesley and I worked together to paint the kitchen at their home on 23rd a deep red. It took several coats - and it looked great. She had such a great eye for color coordination and decorating. Her home was always beautifully decorated for the holidays. 

We had a chance to visit when she was at Central Market a couple years ago. It was a great conversation. She was very proud of her children Lesley and Jon, Granddaughters Jamie and Lida and her Great Grandson Haji. 

I will miss her - and I am honored to have known her these many years. 

Much love to her family. She may be gone physically, but she will always be with you!

Oh gram, a day doesn’t go by that I don’t miss you or talk like you sometimes. I miss you more than I can express. Tears just come now my face, my heart is breaking, and I start hugging your Mickey blanket. It feels like a giant hug from you. I wear the perfume that was yours. I wear just to remember your smell, Japanese cherry blossom, coach, and opium. The three favorite of mine of yours. Gram as tomorrow we celebrate you at golden gardens. I am having hard moments today and miss you a lot more. Picking out an outfit that you would approve, I want to call you up and ask fashion questions. I love you gram so very much and miss you more than ever!!

I had a dream about you last night! You were walking and smiling. We walked together and end up at central market. Ordering chili dog and pizza. We were talking and me saying how much I missed you and started to cry. You kept on saying don’t cry my little Jamie as I’m with you always. 

I woke up and swear I saw you by my bed looking at me and holding my hand. As I was hugging your Mickey blanket and crying. I miss you gram so much.

I miss my gram so very much. So many times I want to call her and see how she is doing and I can’t. But I have one voicemail that will be saved forever of her. 
So many memories of my gram I have and my heart is breaking and tears just rolling down my face. She is the best gram I could ever have. And my sweet boy Haji says to me, “ where is gram?” She is in Heaven looking down on us and saying she loves us and you listen to your mama.. 
I miss you gram 

I am still in tears while writing  my favorite memory of my grandma Ruby, I remember when I was there with her  brushing her hair she really loves the way I brushed  her hair putting on a knob like a teenager “she said” I met her when I was working in where she lives, in a few years that I met her we had a  really good bond like a family she treats me like her one of her grandchildren advises me in everything that I do she was like my real grandma I miss you rubs. Hope I’ve seen you one more time before you go to heaven but it’s okay I know you are happy  now no more pain and you’re with Heavenly Father , We love you Ruby you’ll be remembered. I love you grandma Ruby.

I met Ruby almost 10 years before she passed away. She lived where I work. I got to know her. She became like family to me. I loved her quick wit, her blunt honesty & talking with her about our mutual Scandinavian heritage. Her bond with her family was very strong. I know that her love will remain with all of us. I also know she took our love with her. She will live forever in our memories of her. I am grateful for the time I shared with her.

My gram, oh how much I miss you. You are my rock, my everything, my best friend and the best friend I could ask for. Also a wonderful great gram to my sweet Haji. We will miss you more than I can imagine. You are incredible person, sarcastic and told us thing like it is. I will mostly miss calling you every day and seeing you when I could. Whenever I wear the perfume or your flannel shirts I know you will be with me. I love you dearly and miss you more than ever..
