Roger E. Davis, 77, beloved husband of Ryan Davis, brother of Debbie (Davis) Rice, father of Sacha and Colin Davis, grandfather of Finn, Zivia, Maxine and Harrison, died in Seattle, Washington on Saturday, Oct. 20.
Roger was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Lions Township High School in La Grange, Illinois. He received a business degree from University of Miami-Ohio and a forestry degree from University of Montana. He served with the Marine Corps in Vietnam then returned home and married Ryan Davis. They moved to the west coast, settling in Klamath Falls, Oregon, where Roger worked as a forester before joining his wife at their insurance agency. After 15 years in Klamath Falls, Roger and Ryan moved to Shelton, Washington. They retired and moved to Port Townsend, Washington. After decades in small towns, Roger moved to Seattle in 2018 to be closer to his family.
Roger’s many accomplishments include directing and appearing in various plays and musicals, coaching kids soccer, obtaining his captain license, finishing the Seattle to Portland bike ride, and displaying his artwork.
Roger will be remembered for his love of his family, his watercolors, his passion for the sea, his vibrant singing voice and his sense of humor. His life will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Port Townsend on Dec. 7, 2018.
On a sunny, breezy tenth of July, 2019, Roger was laid to rest in our National Cemetery at Arlington.
