Dear Ray: Hey buddy sorry we did not get there in time to see you. But now you are with the Lord, Jesus Christ. We had good times together. We were getting our old car ready to come all the way to Seattle, WA. This was the bet we had because you and Mary drove your 40` Merc all the way to Johnsonville, SC. You said that we could never drive our 41` Ford Super Deluxe to Seattle, WA. now we never will. But buddy I will never forget you and one day we will see each other again if the Lord's willing. This is not good bye for you are my oldest and dearest friend. But this is a new beginning for you and one day we will all be together again. You and your family are in our prayers. dad im going to miss you.i loved it when you were fishing with me in or around my boat  ha ha,i want to thank you for all the hunting and fishing trips and allways teaching me what it means to be a sportsman.i will allways cherish my time with you and appreiate the things you showed me.ill pass it on to my youngins your son Ron.

Mary our prayers and love are with you, Daniel, Laura Lee, Donald and Ronald.  I'm so glad we got back in touch in the last few years.  Families seem to go their separate ways and don't alway see or talk to each other.  Cousin Ray will be missed.

A friend since childhood, Ray taught me how to drive at 15 (1951).

When he met Mary, he was smitten!  No longer interested in chasing around with the boys.  He just wanted to be with Mary and Moe.  Always talked about his family.

Many trips with Ray and Mary; cars, boats, Port Angeles and Seaside jazz festivals, and Branson, MO.  Ray kept it interesting.  Always helpful to anyone.  We will miss you pal.

Our thoughts are with Mary and the family.

We are so sorry for the loss of Grandpa Ray. He was a good friend and great fishing buddy. Ray was always there to give me a helping hand whenever I needed help no matter how small or big the job was. He will truly be missed by all of us!

Ray was my Grandfather-In-Law. I only knew him six short years, but I am a better person because of it. I liked Ray the second I met him. We really hit it off. He was a good man and I miss him dearly. I thank the Lord that a house became available right across the street and we were able to spend a lot of quality time with him and Gran. I use to go over there before work and he would entertain me with stories of his youth. I really cherish that time we had together. He was a wonderful mentor to my husband and me and we turned to him for guidance on a lot of things. I love you Granpa. My heart goes out to the whole family but especially to Gran.

I really enjoyed getting to know Ray and Mary when they drove their classic car all the way to South Carolina to visit my friend, and Rays childhood friend Jim Conley. Ray was genuinely a great friend and Mary will always be too.

HEY PA . . . HEY WHAT?!!? AAAHHHH YEAH!!! Without fail a phone conversation would start with one of those phrases between my Pa and I.  When I lost my daddy a litle over nine yeas ago - while at his service Pa and I were standing in the parking lot and it was there that he put his arms around me and assured me that I still had a dad - and that was him.  He lived up to that until he took his last breath and for that I am forever grateful. I have been a part of the Porter family for almost 29 years and I thank Pa for all the memories he has left me with during those years.  Again Pa . . . thanks for the memories.  God bless you. This week has been one of the hardest I have ever had. I lost my mother-in-law on December 26 and my father on December 28. Both Linda (wife) and myself are feeling the pain and sorrow of lossing are best friends. We love and miss them both and through time hopefully our pain and broken hearts will mend. Dad, I love you so much. You were a wonderfull father but most of all you were my best friend. Rest in peace and remember you will never walk alone.

Mary and Ray you were wonderful friend when we were young and raising our children I always remember visiting almost every week-end and having so many great times.Your place was were we all hung out at. Mary and Family, We are sorry to hear of your great loss. We will miss Ray and on future V-8 tours. We have happy memories of him in Winthrop and on the Cascade Oregon Tour. We will remember Ray as a nice man, engaging and a fellow V-8 tour member. See ya down the road a piece.

My grandpa was the best grandfather a girl could ever ask for. He was always there whenever I needed him no matter what. I loved to go fishing with him :) it was probably my most favorite memories. I still cannot believe he is gone it just happened way to fast but Im very thankful he did not suffer. I will always love you and miss you grandpa and look forward to seeing you again one day. <3

We will miss Ray's smile and wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. It was an honor to be his cousin. Our love to Mary and his children.

Ray was an oldtime hot rodder from Queen Anne Hill. He loved the old 
Flathead Ford engine, and built many fast ones in his day. Thank goodness
for Mary, for she kept him in check!! I had the privilege in recent years, to
help him with his 1940 Mercury. He and Mary drove that car to South Carolina
three years ago. I was so proud of them for that. Going to miss your smile
