Norman "Norm" D. Parr, 101, passed away very peacefully September 9, 2022 in Everett, WA. Norman was born October 4, 1920 in Vancouver, B.C. to Roy and Martha Parr. The family eventually moved to Bremerton, WA where he graduated from Bremerton H.S. and enrolled at the University of Washington as a forestry major. His college was interrupted by WWII. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in France and Belgium from 1944-1945. After his discharge, he was hired by Boeing where he worked for the next 38 years until his retirement in 1984.
Norman grew up loving the outdoors and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He shared this passion with his family which included many camping trips on the Hood Canal, hiking in the Cascade Mountains and boating in the San Juan Islands. During his retirement he took several trips to Alaska and loved his winter home in Yuma, AZ.
Norman was best known for his outgoing charming nature, his ability to fix anything and always offering a helping hand. He was so lucky to have loved two wonderful women in his life. He was preceded in death his wives, Mary E. Parr and Frances Bloom; his son, Douglas N, Parr and son-in-law, Michael S. Panteleakos.
He is survived by his children Mark A. Parr (Jackie) of Gilbert, AZ; Diane Panteleakos of Bellevue, WA; Gloria Hupy of Anacortes, WA; and his 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation Monday, September 19, 10:00AM-5:00PM; Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home 11111 Aurora Ave N. Seattle.
Service will take place on Tuesday, September 20th, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, located at 2100 Boyer Avenue E., Seattle, WA 98112 at 11:00AM followed by a luncheon, and Interment at Washelli Cemetery.
