Matthew Carl "Newbie" Newland

Matt was born in Renton, Wa on June 15th, 1979. He was the second child to Reva Wildoner Newland and Ernest (Ernie) Carl Newland, Jr.

Matt was raised in Auburn, Washington. He attended the Auburn school district where he demonstrated his leadership skills by becoming the 6th grade student body president.

Growing up he loved to be outside riding his skateboard, snowboarding on the mountain, playing basketball, golf, and baseball and hanging out with his friends.

He graduated from Auburn High School in 1997. After graduation he traveled to Breckenridge, Colorado to perfect his snow boarding passion while working at the Breckenridge Ski Shop.

Matt began his career with Pro Golf Discount in 1999 where he pursued his love of golf and made quite a name for himself. As well as many friendships.

Matt met the love of his life Heather Tumia and they were married on January 6th 2007. They just celebrated 16 years of marriage this year. They settled down in Sumner, Wa where they welcomed their first-born Maxwell Carter Newland on August 26th, 2009. Eleven years later they welcomed their second born Lilianna Beverly June Newland on June 22nd, 2020.

Matt is survived by his wife Heather Tumia Newland, his son Maxwell Carter Newland, his daughter Lilianna Beverly June Newland, his fur-daughter Penelope Newland, his father Ernest Carl Newland Jr., his mother Reva June Wildoner Newland, his sister Jessie Joanna Newland (Jeannie Newland) as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews. He is going to be so INCREDIBLY missed by his family and anyone that knew him.
