A light for you, for the bright light you were....

Oh, Mrs. Brown, I didn't know... hadn't seen you for what, 4 or so years? I can't believe you're gone. I met you when your "Boyfriend" was still alive, and started doing your nails, and our work together lasted for about 25 + years, and 5 different houses... thank you for sticking with me all those years.  You always were my most favorite person, ever. I remember many wonderful conversations with you, I remember laughing with you so hard my sides hurt.. I remember being fascinated by your travel stories, early Vegas and Hollywood stories, your channel 4 "favorite newscaster" stories... especially about the Ties! Lol...and your racing stories. I loved coming to your house those few times to do your nails there, when you couldn't come to me. I loved seeing many of your pictures, from when you were young! I cried with you when Dr. Brown passed, shortly after we first met, and then years later, when both your sons passed. You cried with me when my mom passed. We cried together when both of our beloved dogs passed, my Cobra first, ( my kitty Bella), and then your Lizzie. I have so many wonderful things I remember about you... you were the polar opposite of me politically, but we never argued, you were colorful, bawdy, reluctantly emotional, but you did have a big, beautiful heart and soul, and you were there for me when I needed help... I wish I could have seen you one more time after the last time we spoke, when you were not doing too well, but I hope someone who loved you like I did, was lucky enough to take over doing your nails. I hope you're raising a "Holy Hell"  ruckus in Heaven, and Dr. B is rolling his eyes, going, "Lorna, don't you dare"! Thank you for sharing your life, with me...your amazing stories, personal things about your family and your lifetime of friends.... I love you, and miss you! say hi to my mom, Lizzie and Cobra for me...rest well, in peace, with Dr. B, Lizzie, and your sons...."Mrs. Brown"... Jan

Lorna was one of a kind. No one enjoyed a party more than her. She was  a class act who enjoyed good food, strong drinks and the horse track. She welcomed us into her home and became a part of our lives. We will miss her quick wit and amazing stories of the "golden age of Seattle." We have truly lost an icon of the city.
